On May 15, Easterseals Academy held a special ceremony at Tinley Park, where the HB Threads workshop was officially named in honor of Ruth and Mike. Their commitment to inclusive employment helps expand opportunities for our team and strengthens our mission every day.

We’re so proud to have partners like the Richardsons who believe in our work—and we were honored to recognize them with something made entirely by the people their gift directly supports.

Custom Zip-Ups for a Meaningful Donation

Earlier this year, Ruth and Mike Richardson generously donated $25,000 to support our work at HB Threads, a social enterprise that provides meaningful employment and skill-building opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

To show our gratitude and recognize their incredible support, we surprised Ruth and Mike with custom-made his and her zip-up hoodies—designed, created, and presented by our own HB Threads associates.
